LACTATION COUNSELING

with Hannah Zalmanowitz

We have all heard about the amazing benefits of feeding human milk to our babies, but many of us are not prepared for the challenges we might face trying to achieve this. Getting lactation support at the right time from a knowledgeable clinician can help bring ease to this time and support you to define and achieve your own breast or chestfeeding goals.

Having lived through my own feeding challenges with primary low supply and tongue tie, I know how emotionally and physically painful feeding challenges can be. When breast or chestfeeding isn’t going well, it can be all consuming. There's no wrong time to get support: Whether you’re just getting started or well into your journey, feeding your baby at the body or exclusively pumping, whether this is your first baby or your fifth. If you are feeling worried or struggling with indecision about lactation and feeding, let’s connect and figure it out together. When we work together you can expect a thorough individualized assessment, compassionate support, and a feeding plan designed specifically for you and your baby’s unique situation and needs.

Lactation counseling is available to lactating people of any gender at any point in the lactation journey, no matter your lactation goals.

Lactation counseling is provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Registered Social Worker (RSW) who has conducted additional education in the area of lactation. Although I am not yet certified with the International Board of Lactation Consultants yet, I plan to pursue this designation in the coming years. Stay tuned!

*As Registered Social Workers/Registered Clinical Counselors specializing in lactation counseling and postpartum mental health, my services may be covered under your extended benefits package. Be sure to check with your provider to see if you have RSW or RCC coverage!
